The second Rawle Toney 3×3 Basketball Classic was officially launched Friday night at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

Tournament Organizer Rawle Toney during brief remarks stated that, the format was pivotal for the discipline and the country in terms of tourism and what the local governing body wants to do with the sport in the future.

He expounded, “It’s very important for the country as it’s the first endorsed 3×3 event in the country by FIBA. It’s very critical as it gives the players a platform for exposure and to be registered internationally to improve their rankings.”

Toney thanked the sponsors for the timely and invaluable support which, he said, will aid in making the tournament a competitive success.

According to Toney, international teams have signaled their intention to participate in the tournament which will certainly add to the flavour and competitive interest of the event.
