The newly elected executives of the Berbice Cricket Board met on Monday where several members of various sub-committees were named.

Notably, Simon Naidu was re-elected to serve as the Public Relations Officer, with Albion’s Vemen Walters, Blairmont’s Shabeer Baksh, Eldgert Lyken Edwards, Port Mourant’s Omeshwar Srikissoon and Leslie Soloman, Narine Deonarine of Jai Hind and Guymine’s Gregory Crandon were appointed executives.

Balram Samaroo reprised his role as chairman of the Junior Selection panel, which includes Soloman, Surendra Kissoonlall, Travis Hardcourt, Winston Smith, Roshan Gafoor and Riaz Hakim.

Albert Smith will head the Senior Selection Panel

The Senior Selection panel will be headed by veteran administrator, Albert Smith, along with Julian Moore, Samaroo, Navin Lalbehari and Heeralall Bridgelall. This panel will also be responsible for under-21 and under-23 teams.

Soloman will lead the Competitions Committee along with Smith, Samaroo, Edwards, Ryal Algu, Gafoor, Rudder, Angela Haniff, Rajin Kishun, Tremayne Smartt and Deonarine.

The financial committee is headed by Rovin Beharry, Dr Cecil Beharry, Neil Rudder, Suresh Dhanai and Qualis Winter. Winter is heading the Cricket Development Committee which includes Smith, Moore, Algu, Samaroo, Hardcourt, Smartt and Ameer Rahaman.

Additionally, coaches and managers were selected. Soloman will coach the under-15s with Rudder functioning as manager while under-17 will have Delbert Hicks as coach and Rahaman as manager.

Moore will coach the under-19s with Rudder as his manager.

The under-21s will be coached by Samaroo and managed by Algu. Smith will coach the under-23s while Philbert Wilburg will be the manager. Over in the females’ division, the senior side will be coached by Smith and managed by Haniff while the under-19s will see Smartt and Erva Giddings taking up roles as coach and manager respectively.
