Provide a decent opposition

Dear Editor,

As a British-Guyanese I am at heart a democrat. I certainly did not vote for him but accept that Boris Johnson won an 80-seat Commons majority in the General Election two years ago. I also expect Keir Starmer to oppose more creatively and vigorously than at present.

Hence, my imploring Aubrey Norton to provide a decent opposition in Guyana. Without that you have the road(back)to the one-party state. The ball is in his/the PNC court.

By the by, when will the Guyana Government offer the UK diaspora a spoonful of sugar and name the new London High Commissioner? Sixteen months vacancy is too long.

Yours,

John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
