Blue Berry Hill man shot, family robbed by bandits

A Linden resident was shot while his family was robbed of over $400,000 in jewellery and cellphones on Sunday night after armed bandits stormed their home.

Injured is Corwin Sampson. He was shot once in his left foot during the robbery which took place around 20.15hrs at Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden.

Police yesterday confirmed that they are pursuing the three suspects who managed to escape.

According to a police report, the bandits held the family of four at gunpoint and demanded that they hand over gold and other valuables.

During the process, the police said one of the suspects who was armed with a firearm discharged two rounds as his accomplices relieved the family of their belongings.

As the bandits were escaping, they accosted Sampson who was returning his cousin’s bicycle which he had borrowed earlier.

The bandits relieved Sampson of his silver chain and ring worth a total of $25,000 before they escaped in an unknown direction.

Samson was rushed to the Linden Hospital where he was treated and admitted as a patient.
