Madray, Duncan and Persaud are national archery champions

Umansankar Madray, Samira Duncan and Jeewanram Persaud emerged national archery champions following the staging of the Seven Seas-sponsored indoor tournament recently.

The tournament, postponed from last year, was held at the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) building, Woolford Avenue and Albert Streets.

The two-night competition was held on February 15 and 17th.

According to a press release, Duncan was the winner of the female recurve competition with Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon second.

Madray, Jeewanram Persaud and Fabian Ramdatt, took the top three places in the male recurve competition.

In the bare bow competition, Jeewanram Persaud won from Nicholas Hing with Sean Duncan third.

The competition was supervised by Director of Shooting, Ryan McKinnon and the Competitions Committee together with the Chair of the Judges Committee, Robert Singh and his team of nationally certified judges, the release added.

The competition was customised to meet strict COVID-19 guidelines.

The next competition for Archery Guyana, will be the 2021 Outdoor Championships set for March 6th at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.
