An assault charge against Divesh Ramjattan was yesterday dismissed after the woman who complained opted instead for a restraining order.
Ranjattan was charged yesterday over the assault of a woman.
He was arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan read the charge to him.
It is alleged that on February 27, at Delph Street, Campbellville, he unlawfully assaulted the woman.
Ramjattan, represented by his father, attorney Khemraj Ramjattan, pleaded not guilty. The matter was later dismissed after the virtual complainant opted to have a restraining order against the defendant obtained.
