Deal signed for poultry facility at Matarkai

Builders Engineering and Architectural Consultancy on Friday signed a contract with the Government of Guyana for the Construction of a Poultry Rearing and Processing Facility at One Mile, Matarkai, Region One.

A release from the Ministry of Finance said that the  project is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank’s Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) and the Government of Guyana. It includes the establishment of a medium scale poultry rearing, packaging and processing facility.

When completed, the release said that it will boost economic activity in the community and region through the creation of jobs and also add to the supply market for the entire region.

The BNTF Implementing Agency will also be providing training to beneficiaries who will be involved in management and operations of the facility.

Present at the signing were Bernard Lord, Chairman of BNTF Oversight Entity; Karen Roopchand, Project Manager, BNTF; representatives of the Supervision Consultants CB & Associates Incorporated, and contractors of Builders Engineering and Architectural Consultancy.
