Stafanie Taylor sits in an elite class as the only player with to 5232 runs, 152 wickets and 63 catches in 50-over cricket.

West Indies women’s team captain and all-rounder Stafanie Taylor moved to the head of the class Friday night.

In the game against Bangladesh women, Taylor became the first player to score 5000 (5232) runs and take 150 (152) wickets in One-Day Internationals.

The West Indies Women’s captain also is one of eight female players to take more than 50 catches in the format with 63.

Taylor’s nearest challenger is Australia’s Ellyse Perry with 3324 runs, 161 wickets and 41 catches.

Despite that, it was the performance of the team in the batting department that occupied Taylor’s attention post match with Taylor issuing a call for the batters to come to the party in the ongoing ICC 50-over World Cup.

Speaking at the post-match where her side moved to third on the points table after their third win, Taylor said, “I always say the batters need to come to the party and we are not consistent and we need to be consistent if we are going to compete in this competition.”

West Indies were bundled out for 140 with Shemaine Campbelle playing the lone hand with an important 53 not out.

“It’s something we just need to talk about as a batting group where we’re at and where we need to be,” she said.

“There are no two ways about it, we had close games and probably looking back from India game we didn’t perform well with the bat and even back at the Australia game and even looking here, so that is something that is a concern for us so we just have to talk about it, we can’t really go through the tournament like this we just have to put our hands up and bat,” she declared.

Australia and South Africa are both undefeated with eight points while West Indies have six. India and New Zealand are close with four points with England and Bangladesh on two points each. Pakistan is yet to secure a win in four tries.

“If you look around, everyone is quite tight on the table and it is not a case where Deandra or Hayley or myself have to bat. Our batting line up is quite long. We just have to come together and win games and be more consistent,” Taylor said.

Taylor has enjoyed success with bat and ball and her 3-29 against Bangladesh women saw her reaching that important milestone.
