Trinidad and Tobago’s left arm orthodox spinner Akeal Hosein has received a call to join the West Indies test squad for the deciding third test which gets underway Thursday in Grenada.

According to veteran cricket commentator, Guyanese Joseph `Reds’ Perreira, a call was made to the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) and they confirmed that Hosein was supposed to arrive yesterday afternoon.

According to Perreira, Hosein’s call up could be interpreted as a cover for left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul who reportedly has an injured finger.

It is not clear when Permaul injured the finger but Perreira says the Guyanese left-arm spinner will probably be subjected to a fitness test and if he’s not fit to play in the third test, then Hosein might replace him.

The West Indies selectors have named the same 13 players who were shortlisted for the first two tests which were both drawn with opener John Campbell and Shamarh Brooks holding on to their places.
