Everest Cricket Club and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) advanced to the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association Noble House Seafood two-day, second-division tournament.

At Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), the hosts surrendered first innings points to Everest after being bowled out for 141 in response to Everest’s 207. Everest enjoyed some batting practice in their second innings after the match was deemed a draw with the visitors 86 for five in 35.2 overs.

GCC resumed on 34 for three but struggled to clear off the deficit. Bernard Bailey top scored with 38 from 88 balls. His innings featured three boundaries. Thaddeus Lovell made a spirited 22 while Aryan Persaud made 19 but they still trailed by 66. Javed Rasheed was the principal wicket taker with 3-42 while Raylex Payne bagged 2-16.

Everest’s second innings belonged to Matthew Nandu who made 41 from 62 balls, laced with seven boundaries before popping a soft catch to Zachary Jodah at bat pad and Dwayne Adams with 21 not out from 32 balls. Krsna Singh took 2-12 and Bailey bagged 2-22.

At DCC, the hosts defeated Malteenoes by six wickets early on day two. DCC entered day two with a six-run lead after mustering 149 but their bowlers routed Malteenoes for 74 in 22.3 overs. DCC were led by Sachin Singh who picked up 3-11 and Daniel Mootoo who followed up his five-wicket haul in the first innings with 3-29. Kareem Whitney supported with 2-26.

Shemroy Barrington (26), Collis Ruple (11) and Jeremiah Scott (10) were the only batsmen to reach double figures.

DCC cruised to 71 for four in 18.4 overs with Jadon Campbell anchoring the chase with 31 not out from 47 balls. He got support from Raymond Perez with 24 from 19 balls. Nichosie Barker picked up 3-17.
