Green padlocks field to win 55-miler

Andre ‘Padlock’ Green took his talents to the Linden/Soesdyke Highway and showed his climbing prowess en route to besting a quality field in the ‘Hell in the Cell’ 55-mile road race which was organized and sponsored by the Kaieteur Attack Racing Club which he represents.

Andre ‘Padlock’ Green kicked off April’s racing calendar in fine style yesterday by powering  to victory in the ‘Hell in the Cell’ 55-mile road race.

The standout Berbician took his talents to the Linden/Soesdyke Highway and showed his climbing prowess en route to besting a quality field in the event which was organized and sponsored by the Kaieteur Attack Racing Club which he represents.

For the race which pedaled off at the highway junction, proceeded to Silver Hill and returned Splashmins for the finish, Green stopped the clock in 2:32.15.

He led national riders, Curtis Dey and Walter Grant-Stuart onto the podium, while Paul DeNobrega, Kemuel Moses and Christopher Griffith filled out the top six rewarding positions.

On the distaff side, Denise Jeffrey out rode Marica Dick and Clavecia Spencer while Mario Washington, David Hicks and Sherwin Sampson were the top three junior wheelsmen. Grant-Stuart, Robin Persaud and Ian Jackson were the veteran wheelsmen that finished 1-3.
