Enterprise Gardens couple found with ganja in car, home – police

Two persons were taken into police custody on Thursday following the discovery of 6.015 kilogrammes of cannabis in a vehicle in which they were in as well as at their Enterprise Gardens, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a press release issued yesterday said ranks, acting on information received, conducted an operation in the Enterprise Gardens community around 8pm.

During the operation, the police said the two persons, a man and a woman seated in a parked car with registration number PRR 2824, were intercepted.

“A search was conducted on the occupants and the motor car and four bulky transparent wrapped parcels containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis were found,” the release said.

Both suspects were told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Cove and John Police Station.

Additionally, according to the police, a further search was conducted at their Enterprise Gardens home and a black bag containing two plastic-wrapped parcels of suspected cannabis was found in a bedroom.

The narcotics were taken to the Cove and John Police Station, where it was weighed.

Both suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
