Sink in Belvedere ECD Highway disruptive to residents

Dear editor.

I would like to make a request to HE Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana, and Bishop Juan A Edghill, Minister of Works, to fix the public road situated between Lots 8 and 10 on the southern part of Belvedere, Mahaicony Road, East Coast Demerara. The reason for this, Editor, is that I am living in Toronto, Canada and I have a 3 bedroom house next to this highway. I, my wife, daughter and son-in-law would usually stay here when we’re on vacation for 3 months, as we usually do each year. Because the road has a sink and whenever empty trucks drop into the sink, the noise is so loud, we cannot sleep. This caused my daughter and son-in-law to stay at the Marriott for 3 weeks, and then my wife and I were forced to cut short our vacation [together with my daughter and son-in-law]. I would like to request your newspaper publish this letter, in the hope the Minister will do his part, because in the past complaints made to regional authorities and nothing was done.

Sincerely,

Christnand Budhu
