Wanted: Ryvan Shervin Francis

One week after a wanted bulletin was issued for him, there has been no sign of Ryvan Shervin Francis, the suspect who is wanted in relation to the 2013 murder of Guyana Energy Agency field manager, Levoy Taljit.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) last Tuesday issued a wanted bulletin for 44-year-old Francis, whose last known address is Lot 4B Sharma Alley, Soesdyke, EBD.

The wanted bulletin came just days after Stabroek News published a news item on the nine-year-old cold case.

Without divulging any information, sources recently told Stabroek News that there were “some” developments in the matter.

As such, source said investigators made several attempts to arrest Francis but they were unsuccessful. As a result, the wanted bulletin was issued.

Taljit of Anira Street, Queenstown is believed to have been killed sometime between December 23 and 24, 2012.  His body has never been found.

Taljit was last seen driving his Toyota Raum motor vehicle, PNN 8315, which was found vandalised days after along the Linden-Soesdyke highway.

Phone records had led the police to a suspect. Stabroek News understands that Francis was the said suspect. He was arrested but released after 72 hours since he did not give the police any substantial information that could provide a clue as to Taljit’s whereabouts.

“I just sit down eagerly listening when they gon apprehend he (Francis)”, Levoy’s Basil yesterday told Stabroek News in an invited comment.

He said now that the bulletin has been issued after all these years, he hopes that “something solid” would come out of the case this time.  “I still hoping that something properly would come up. I ain’t get no word yet….I hoping that something true might come out,” he said.
