NIS constantly looks at making communication easier with these existing online services

Dear Editor,

Please permit me to respond to E.B. John’s letter, “Online communication should be prioritized as the most urgent of reinvention for the NIS”, which was featured in Friday April 22, 2022 Stabroek News newspaper. The National Insurance Scheme wishes to advise the general public that along with the traditional telephone service, the following online services are in existence and are being utilized by many of our customers.

1.            NIS live interactive online chat via the Web page

2.            NIS messenger chat on the Facebook page

3.            WhatsApp Queries Drop box

4.            WhatsApp life certificate hotlines

5.            Email Services

6.            Zoom platforms which are used to host meetings, training/Educational sessions with employers or their representatives. 

7.            Employers have the option of submitting their Contribution Schedules online

8.            Self Employed Persons have the option of paying the contribution online using the GTT Mobile Money app.

The Scheme is constantly looking at new means of making communicating with our customers easier and more convenient since we do recognize that this is one of the greatest challenges we face as a scheme.
