Region Four woman, 50, is latest COVID-19 fatality

A 50-year-old woman of Region Four, Demerara-Mahaica, was on Saturday identified as Guyana’s latest COVID-19 fatality.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Health said the woman died on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was partially vaccinated.

With her death, the country’s death toll now stands at 1,238.

Meanwhile, the ministry yesterday also confirmed a total of 93 new COVID-19 cases, which were recorded from 1,362 tests.

According to the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard, the cases were recorded from Region One, which had 3 new cases; Region Two, which had 11 cases; Region Three, 15 cases; Region Four, 55 cases; Region Five, 1 case; Region Six, 2 cases; and Region Seven, 8 new cases.

The updated dashboard also shows that 1 person was in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 28 were in institutional isolation and 856 in home isolation.
