The final round of matches in the West Indies Championship ended in draws which was good enough to see Barbados Pride retaining their title.

Pride responded to Windward Islands Volcanoes first innings score of 203 with 285 for six in 80 overs. With most of the match affected by rain, Kraigg Brathwaite scored his third century of the season, 109 from 219 balls and featuring 14 boundaries.

The West Indies captain will end the tournament as the leading scorer after chalking up 584 runs at an average of 83.4.

Brathwaite was supported by Raymon Reifer with 71 from 88 balls as they shared in a 116-run partnership and Roston Chase with 59 from 110 balls, while adding 95 for the fourth wicket. Ryan John, Darius Martin, and Larry Edward, all picked up two wickets.

The match between Leeward Islands Hurricanes and Jamaica Scorpions also ended in a draw with no play on the final day. Despite that, Rahkeem Cornwall ended as the leading wicket taker with 23 wickets under his belt. Guyana Harpy Eagles vice-captain, Keemo Paul picked up 20 wickets while his left-arm spinning team mate, Veerasammy Permaul bagged 19 wickets.

Guyana also drew their match with Trinidad and Tobago Red Force with a full day’s play on the final day. Eagles, responding to Red Force first innings total of 218, made 331 all out in 83.3 overs while Red Force reached 25 for one when the end of play was called.

Resuming on 30 without loss, Tevin Imlach converted his overnight score of 25 to 76 from 172 balls. He struck eight fours and one six while adding 72 for the opening wicket with Tagenarine Chanderpaul (25).

Imlach also added 64 for the sixth wicket with Kevin Sinclair who scored his maiden first class half century. Sinclair raced to 58 from 65 balls while hitting six fours and one six along the way.

Permaul and Gudakesh Motie chipped in with valuable cameos of 47 and 37 respectively, while Nial Smith made 21 not out to see Guyana establish a decent lead. Bryan Charles picked up 3-56 and was supported by Terrance Hinds (3-75) and Uthman Muhammad (2-40).
