V Fitness Gym run out winners

V Fitness gym of Soesdyke, emerged victors of the first edition of the recent Fitness Combat event which was organised by Videsh Sookram.

During the Fitness Combat, a CrossFit-like team competition, V Fitness dominated from start to end, winning both the mixed category and the five-a-side women’s segment.

Exodus came in second, followed by Total Fitness Gym and Unity Gym at Camille’s Academy school ground.

The female teams had to complete a half mile run, 300 jumping jacks, 1000 skips, 400 squats, 100 push-up jacks, 100 burpees, 150 CrossFit push-ups, sand bucket run, 100 push-up planks and three tyre flips

The males had to a one mile run, 1000 jumping jacks, 2000 skips, 800 squats, 100 push-up jacks, 200 burpees, 300 CrossFit push-ups, sand bucket run, 150 push-up planks and 10-lap tyre flips.

Each of the four teams was assigned a judge to ensure they complete the various tasks. The judges were national bodybuilders Julio Sinclair, Darious Ramsammy, Christina Ramsammy along with Dellon Webster.

Following the event, Sookram thanked the teams for competing and the sponsors for being on board. They were Fitness Express, Camille’s Academy, Simon Pharmacy, Integrated Medical Clinic, Outreach Pharmacy.
