‘Sixhead’ Lewis National Novices Championship concludes tonight

The Andrew ‘Sixhead’ Lewis National Novices Championship continues to entertain with another punch-filled card last evening at the National Gymnasium.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event recommenced with nine bouts on opening night and another nine last night.

In arguably the most entertaining fight on last evening’s card, Guyana Police Force Gym’s Donovan Richardson, got the judges nod versus welterweight foe, Trevor Motielall of the Forgotten Youth Foundation Gym in a crowd pleasing punch fest.

The three-day fixture has attracted in excess of 50 boxers who will be lacing up the gloves for bragging rights and trophies. Opening night ushered in the return of the Republican (Prisons) Boxing Gym and the Guyana Police Force Gym.

Other gyms competing are Young Achievers, Vergenoegen, Forgotten Youth Foundation, Guyana Defence Force, Rosehall Jammers, and the Pace and Power Gym.

The Guyana Defence Force is the defending champion of the annual fixture which concludes tonight. Action starts at 18:00hrs.
