A twenty-six-year-old minibus conductor yesterday morning succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident which occurred on Friday night.

The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Sandy Babb Street and Vlissengen Road, claimed the life of Keshawn Wray of Lot 192 Prospect, East Bank Demerara (EBD) and left Fareesa Azeez, of Eccles, EBD injured.

The Police last night said the accident occurred at 11.40 pm. At the time of the accident  Wray was riding a motorcycle and Azeez was the pillion rider. The bike  collided with a motor car.

Wayne Robinson, the driver of motor car HD 896 told police that he was proceeding south along the eastern carriageway of Vlissengen Road and made a turn whilst the traffic light signal was showing green in his direction.

It is alleged, Police said, that the motorcycle on the approach to the intersection failed to stop and collided with the left side of the car.

As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist and the pillion rider fell on the road and sustained injuries.

They were both picked up in a conscious condition by an ambulance and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where they were seen by a doctor on duty.

Wray after the examination was told that he had suffered a dislocated hip and abrasions to his hands while the pillion rider suffered a broken right foot and abrasions to her face and hands.
