Defending champs Christianburg/Wismar crushes Caramel

Defending champion Christianburg/Wismar, West Ruimveldt, Cummings Lodge, and North Ruimveldt secured victories when the Milo Secondary School Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Christianburg/Wismar crushed Carmel 3-0. Kelvin Hintzer, Jamil James, and Kristian Louis scored in the fifth, 19th and 70th minute respectively.

Likewise, West Ruimveldt downed Marian Academy 3-1. Nicolas James fashioned a second half double in the 55th and 58th minute. Adding a goal in the 12th minute was Donovan Welcome. For the loser, Nicholas Jones scored in the 14th minute.

Meanwhile, Cummings Lodge overcame a 0-2 deficit to defeat Uitvlugt 4-2. Daniel Murray recorded a brace in the 24th and 30th minute, whilst Keyshawn Millington, and Elijah Mendonca scored in the 41st and 49th minute respectively.

For the loser, Niaz Orealla, and Nvron Adams scored in the 13th and 22nd apiece. The event continues today at the same venue with another four matches. At 12:30hrs, Golden Grove will oppose Annandale, while Dolphin Secondary engages New Central at 14:00hrs.

In the third fixture, Tucville lock horns with Friendship at 15:30hrs while the final match will pit Lodge against President’s College from 17:00hrs.
