Essequibo cricket stars for Trophy Stall T10 competition

Cricket stars from Essequibo will be in action this month end when the Trophy Stall T10 competition gets underway at the two venues in the area.

According to a release, the competition is being run by the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) in conjunction Region Two’s with the Regional Democratic Council (RDC).

The competition will take place at the Anna Regina Secondary School and Walton Hall Sports grounds on July 31.

A number of star players such as Ronsford Beaton, Anthony Adams, Rovindra Parasram, Norman Fredericks, Narendra Mandolall and Nathan Persaud will participate in the tournament.

Teams from North and South Pomeroon, Wakenaam, Leguan, East Bank Essequibo, Bartica and Central Essequibo, will compete for trophies and cash incentives.

Trophy Stall has donated the first place trophy and its Managing Director, Ramesh Sunich, said that he was pleased with the venture and with his company’s role in the development of cricket in Essequibo.

A floodlight softball competition and a female exhibition match will complement the T10.

Regional Chairperson Vilma DeSilva, Regional Vice-Chairman Humace Oodit, Regional Executive Officer Susanna Saywack and ECB President Deleep Singh are expected to be in attendance.

The competition will get underway at 09:30hrs.
