Three held after $1.8m in ganja found on Hill St

A Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU)-led operation in Albouystown yesterday unearthed $1.8 million worth of cannabis and three persons have since been arrested.

A brief statement from the drug enforcement agency released on Facebook last night said its officers conducted an operation at Hill Street, Albouystown, Georgetown. Following the search of a premises, the officers discovered a large quantity of suspected cannabis.

The narcotic was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters where it tested positive for cannabis and weighed approximately 14 kg, with an estimated street value of approximately $1.8m.

The trio is currently in custody assisting with investigations.
