Five injured after vehicle collision at Johanna Cecilia

Five persons were rushed yesterday to the Suddie Public Hospital in Region Two after they were involved in a multi-vehicle accident. The collision occurred around 3:30 pm at Johanna Cecilia in front of the H and J Supermarket.

According to information gathered, whilst in heavy traffic, a driver lost control of his vehicle and smashed into four other cars. One of the damaged cars PAB 9963 skidded off the road and ended up on the parapet in front of the supermarket parking lot. 

One of the injured was identified as Gordon Williams also known as ‘Monkey Harry’ of Perservance, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara. The accident resulted in the driver sustaining head injuries. 

“We just saw all the vehicles damaged – all were going in the same direction, persons were injured,” an eyewitness recounted. 

The injured persons were transported to the hospital by a public-spirited citizens.
