Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Patrick Findlay has urged ranks of Region One (Barima-Waini) to remain committed and professional in the execution of their duties.

Findlay headed a team during a visit to the Region on Wednesday to meet and interact with ranks.

The meeting was held in the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) conference room during which several issues and concerns affecting ranks were raised and addressed.

Among those present at the meeting were Police Commander Himnauth Shaw, Sergeants and Inspectors.  Findlay was accompanied by PSC secretary, Jai Singh.

In a press release issued on Thursday, the Guyana Police Force said Singh also encouraged ranks to capitalize on all opportunities to study academically and complete the required examinations for upward mobility and career development.

Sawh described the PSC visit as “timely, significant and very inspirational”, the release said.

According to the release, Findlay promised that as the PSC continues its work, it will be visiting every region across the country to interact with ranks and listen to their concerns. Issues will also be addressed where applicable, he said.
