Police are probing the discovery on Sunday of burnt remains of an unidentified man at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Stabroek News was reliably informed that a team of ranks was dispatched to Snake Farm, Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke-Linden Highway on Sunday where they discovered the burnt remains along the trail.

The remains were found north of the entrance leading to Circuit Area, Timehri in some bushes.

A number of items including one pair of Air Jordan sneakers, a Seiko watch, one knife blade, two screw drivers, one USB charger cable and a bunch of keys were also found.

Further searches were conducted in the area yesterday morning and  bone fragments along with two Barbadian one-dollar coins,  piece of a leather belt and piece of a blue denim jeans were recovered.

Sources told Stabroek News that as the investigation continues, samples would be sent for DNA testing.
