It is extremely difficult to comprehend Mr. Enrico Woolford’s objection and outrage (SN 9/5/2022) at Ravi Dev’s letter in Stabroek News (9/4/2022). Obviously, the letter not only reminds us of a dark and ugly chapter of our history, but it must also be seen in the context of the ongoing violence against Indians. What was started in Wismar on 25 and 26 May 1964 continues as we have seen in January 1997, the Lusignan massacre of January 26, 2008, the 2020 West Coast rampage in September soon after the PPP took office, and, most recently, the Mon Repos mayhem in June this year. Some are eager to cover up these crimes against Indians. We must not forget.
