The Demerara Cricket Club Sunday night celebrated 110 years as a club with a dinner at the Queenstown venue.

The night’s event included an auction sale of portraits of Clive Lloyd, Lance Gibbs, Roger Harper, Travis Dowlin and Sir Richard Hadlee.

Reginald Brotherson was the Master of Ceremonies while Adam Harris gave a history of the DCC which included excerpts of a Stabroek News’ article written by Donald Duff which chronicled the club’s centenary anniversary celebrations.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Rumson Jnr., was bestowed with a life membership.

He later declared that he was humbled by the gesture and said that his heart will always remain with the legendary club. (Charwayne Walker)
