After two decades, amateur boxing made its ring return to Rose Hall Town last evening. The highly anticipated event which, had 16 bouts carded, was staged at the Rose Hall Municipality Ground.

Last evening’s fixture saw the nation’s best youth and junior pugilists from gyms like Young Achievers, Forgotten Youth Foundation, Vergenoegen and of course Rose Hall Jammers matching gloves for trophies and medals.

In keeping with President Irfaan Ali’s theme of ‘One Guyana’, the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) took the stance to decentralize the fistic sport, hence the staging of the event outside of Georgetown.
