CANU nabs man with $4.7M in ganja at Bath

A 38-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday following the discovery of $4.7 million worth of cannabis in a minibus and a car at Bath Experiment, West Coast Berbice.

The suspect has been identified as Pramal Madray.

The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), in a press release issued yesterday, said ranks conducted an operation at Madray’s residence during which the cannabis was discovered.

The drugs were discovered in minibus BZZ 4342 and motor car PTT 7821.

Madray was arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the narcotics and both vehicles.

The narcotics tested positive for cannabis, CANU said. It was weighed and amounted to 15.8 kilogrammes, with a street value of approximately $4.7 million.
