Amelia’s Ward Panthers, and newcomer Golden Star played to a 1-1 stalemate when the Upper Demerara Football Association leg of the Namilco Championship resumed at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground, Linden yesterday.
A halftime lead for Amelia’s Ward couldn’t be maintained heading into the dying minutes as Golden Star secured a share of the spoils.
Falling behind to a 27th minute strike into the far corner from D. Warner, a scoreline which remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval, Golden Star secured the equaliser in the form of K. James who slammed his effort into the back of the net in the 87th minute.
