‘Looking to Heaven’ captured a sensational victory at the Bush Lot United Turf Club in the feature E and lower 1200m event of the Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing meet on Sunday.

On a cool afternoon at the packed venue, the dark-bay colt sent turfites into a frenzy as he galloped across the finish line about two lengths ahead of Everesting and Arian’s Vision justifying the favourite tag given at the start of the race.

Fourth place finisher, Converter was a further three lengths behind.

Sent off as the betting favourite, the thoroughbred recently imported from the USA, took full command of the race after the second furlong and left the rest of the cavalry in its rear view, never letting up as the lead increased with every powerful stride.

The duo of horse and jockey, Nicholas Patrick flew down the track at a break-neck pace, showing elite speed that bodes well for the upcoming horse race meets in the 592.

The victory was worth a hefty and appetizing $1M and a large trophy.

In the co-feature 2 Year old and Guyana Bred maidens, event, Rachel drew off in the final furlong to earn an easy victory in the 1200M race.

The Cheefoon Racing Stables product earned its handlers $400,000 for the win. Hardcore, She’s A Star and Halo finished second, third and fourth.
