Spots up for grabs as knockout rounds commence

With several berths to the knockout round still up for grabs the final round of group-stage matches in the MVP Sports Futsal Championship will commence this evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

The night will commence with the female division which is penciled to feature four matches. Conquerors will engage Herstelling at 18:30hrs with Santos tackling GT Panthers at 19:10hrs.

The Guyana Defence Force will match skills with Tiger Bay from 19:50hrs while the  Guyana Police Force will attempt to arrest Avocado Ballers from 20:20hrs.

In the Men’s section, Tiger Bay will lock horns with Mocha Family at 20:30hrs while  Sophia will tackle Campbellville at 21:15hrs.

Bent Street will oppose Team Cruel at 22:00hrs and Back Circle will take centre stage with Vengy at 22:45hrs.

In the final set of matches Sparta Boss will face off against Stabroek Ballers at 23:3hrs while Gold is Money will take aim at Future Stars at 00:15hrs.

 Upon the conclusion of the round-robin stage, the top two finishers and the two best third-place teams will progress to the quarterfinal section. Also, the respective group winners will receive $50,000, whilst the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will collect $30,000, $20,000, and $10,000 respectively.

The first prize of the men’s tournament is $500,000 while the second, third and fourth-place prizes are $300,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively.

 The first prize in the women’s section is  $200,000 with the second, third, and fourth-place prizes being $100,000, $50,000, and $20,000 respectively. The other sponsors of the event include Magnum Tonic Wine and Lucozade Energy Drink.
