Over the years Guyana’s basketball fans have been richly blessed by the performances of  several brothers playing at the same FIBA  sponsored tournaments.

This historic sequence started with the Brusche and Fitzalbert brothers.

The year was 1975 when Michael and Clifton Brusche and Melroy and Merton Fitzalbert proudly represented Guyana with honour at the 1975 Central American Basketball Championships in the Dominican Republic.

The trend continued in 1994 at the CARICOM Basketball Championships hosted by Guyana when the Loncke brothers Rawlwin and Lancelot made their CARICOM debuts.

The Loncke brothers were on the Guyana national team again in 1995 when the CARICOM show was in Nassau, The Bahamas. The following year 1996, Rawlwin and Lancelot Loncke, were joined by the Mohan brothers, captain Lugard  and his younger brother Orin `Baby’ when Guyana placed fourth at the  CARICOM Championships in Trinidad.

The Mohan were the Guyanese brothers running things when the land of the majestic Kaieteur Falls took home the bronze medal at the 2000 CARICOM Championship in Barbados.

The next set of brothers that represented Guyana at a FIBA sponsored tournament were the Klaiber and Creppy brothers.

Gordon and Antric Klaiber and Michael and Kevon Creppy were outstanding for the Land of Many Waters at the 2007 FIBA-sponsored Caribbean Confederation Championships in Puerto Rico.

Gordon Klaiber averaged over 24 points per game.

The James brothers, Delroy and Gordon, suited up for Guyana at the 2021 FIBA World Cup qualifiers in El Salvador while this year,  the James brothers represented Guyana at another FIBA International tournament, the 3x 3 Classic in Miami.
