Skeletal remains found at Lancaster

Police on Friday recovered skeletal remains under an abandoned house located at Coconut Walk, Lancaster, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara.

The Guyana Police Force said Alvin Rambishun, 37 of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, suspects the remains might be that of his brother, Rodrick Applesammy, 33, who lived at the property.

Rambishun reported to the police that he was out at sea when he received information from some of his workmates that his brother, who resided in the abandoned house in Lancaster, was found dead and his remains was under the house. He then related the same to his sister, Tavener Persaud, who visited the area where the skeletal remains of the body were found.

The matter was reported to the police, who processed the scene and removed the skeletal remains. The remains were subsequently taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
