Contrasting wins for Saints, TTPS

Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and Saints recorded contrasting wins in the men’s division when the Diamond Mineral Water Indoor Hockey Festival commenced on Thursday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

TTPS downed Bounty Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) by a 5-2 score-line. Continuing in the same division, Saints edged Old Fort 3-2.

The tournament which is set to conclude tomorrow at the same venue features local and regional teams in the form of Trinidad and Tobago clubs competing in four divisions. They are the Men, Women, and Veterans over 35, with the Veterans over 45 division making its debut at the competition.

Winner of the Men’s and Women’s sections respectively will walk away with US$2500 respectively, with the respective runners-up receiving US$1000. The eventual victors of the Veterans over 35 and Over 45 divisions will pocket US$1000. The regional teams that have confirmed their participation are Queens Park, Police Hockey Club, and George United.
