UG, NATI reach final

The University of Guyana (UG) and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) will contest the final of the tertiary knockout basketball tournament following semifinal wins at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.

UG defeated Mahaicony Technical Institute 64-57. Shakail Bobb-Semple and Jether Harris scored 13 and 10 points each. For the losers, Kurvin Mars tallied 20 points.

In the other semifinal, New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) brushed aside Government Technical Institute (GTI) 42-24.

Charles Williams top scored with 13 points whilst Qwesi Johnson added nine points. For the losers, Jamal Mercier scored nine points.

Meanwhile in the Titan Bowl, GTI downed the Bishops High 30-26. Martin Edwards and Resean Barnwell scored eight and seven points apiece for the winners.

For the losers, Mattias Arrindell netted 11 points.

In another fixture Aroaima crushed Kwakwani 62-34. Kelon Phillips and Kasim English scored 28 and 24 points respectively in the rout. For the losers, Aaron Vanteoin netted 18 points.
