My mother-in-law must give up her GuySuCo pension

Dear Editor,

My 87 years’ old mother-in-law residing overseas has to receive a GuySuCo pension on behalf of her deceased husband. The amount is about one thousand dollars per week. On submitting her life certificate to GuySuCo through its agent, the amount is sent to a bank for entry into an account. The Bank rightfully requests the following for the account to be activated to receive the pension entry:

1.            Passport

2.            Proof of Address

3.            Job letter/pay slip

4.            FATCA Forms- Social Security number.

All documents must be authenticated by the Guyana Consulate, or her overseas banker, including their Business Card/Contact Information. Editor, I have advised my mother -in-law to give up. The demands are too much and cannot be reached.

Sincerely,

Krishna Nand Prasad
