A head on collision between two vehicles on the Hibernia Public Road in Region Two early yesterday morning resulted in several persons suffering injuries and the driver of one of the vehicles, a 30-year-old woman, is currently unconscious in hospital.

Angelia Simon, of Lot 8 Cotton field Region Two was the driver of PXX 8405 when she reportedly suffered a tyre blow-out and collided with motor-car PXX 4632. At the time there was one occupant in her car, thirty- six year old Adzar Mohammed. The other vehicle was driven by Ivan Layne of Ondernmeeing Sandpit, Region Two. Layne was accompanied by 54 year Aleen Layne and a 12 year old Andrew Curdis of Pomona Region Two.

According to information received, Simon was proceeding north on the western carriageway of Hibernia Public Road, allegedly at a fast rate, while Layne was proceeding south on the eastern side when the collision occurred. Both vehicles received extensive damages to their front. All the occupants, including both drivers were assisted by residents and immediately rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital.

Simon was unconscious at the scene, she suffered lacerations to her body and a concussion to the head. Mohammed suffered lacerations to his chin and lower lip and a fractured rib while Layne [driver of the other vehicle] received lacerations to his body and is currently experiencing chest pains. The Police are currently investigating.
