Local talents, Kevlon Anderson and Antony Adams gave the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) selectors another reason why they should get a spot in the national side after churning out exceptional performances in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Berbice stroke maker and former West Indies youth batsman,  Anderson, scored 128 not out for Preysal Sports Club against Queen’s Park Cricket Club in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board three-day championship.

Anderson’s unbeaten 128 saw him striking 14 boundaries during his 193-ball ordeal and ensured Preysal respond with 273 to Queen’s Park’s first innings total of 287 all out after Jon-Russ Jaggesar took 5-55.

Queen’s Park then saw the match to a draw after finishing the day on 283 for three.

Meanwhile, Essequibo left-arm spinner, Adams, who is on the Guyana Harpy Eagles reserve list, brought the heat for PowerGen Penal Sports Club as he picked up 5-30 in 17.4 overs in the first innings and 1-44 from 28.4 overs in the second innings against Clarke Road United.

Clarke Road were bowled out for 91 in the first innings while PowerGen responded with 251 all out. Adams made 14. Clarke Road then reached 161 for four with Nicholas Sookdeosingh finishing unbeaten on 101 as the match also ended in a draw.

With these performances, the duo will be looking to capture the attention of the selectors before the third round of the West Indies four-day championship bowls off on March 15.
