The Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG) has released the CARIFTA Games qualifying standards ahead of the 2023 iteration of the Games, which will be held in the Bahamas from April 7 to April 10.

Teen athletes with aspirations of representing Guyana at this year’s Games will have their opportunity to punch their tickets when the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) Junior League is staged at the National Track and Field Centre this weekend (February 18-19).

Athletes are scheduled to get into the blocks from 10:00hrs daily.

The event, will be used to select Guyana’s team to the 50th edition of the historic fixture.

Standout local junior athletes will be eager to reach or surpass the qualifying standards set by the AAG in order to compete among the Region’s best during the Easter weekend. The trials should be highly competitive as there are several rivalries among the teen track and field stars in the 592.
