The top three finishers in the recent  East Coast Mash Cup Football Championships, Ann’s Grove, Dynamic FC and Pouderoyen were presented with their prizes during a simple presentation ceremony on Monday at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) secretariat.

Ann’s Grove was presented with the championship trophy and first prize of $500,000 while Dynamic FC walked away with the second place accolade and $250,000.

The final between the two teams ended controversially on Saturday after the officials declared Ann’s Grove the winner to end a tense sudden death penalty shoot-out. The decision by the officials, which was made after utilizing the tournament rules and FIFA regulations, occurred after Dynamic FC’s decided to walk off the playing area and refused to continue the fixture.

The score at the end of the contest was 7-7, with Ann’s Grove poised to convert to seal the victory after the home side had missed their previous attempt at the distance. The initial section of the penalty shoot-out finished 3-3.

Meanwhile, Pouderoyen received the third place package of $150,000 and the respective accolade after gaining a walkover from Slingerz FC. The fourth place prize of $100,000 was not presented to Slingerz FC who failed to contest the third place playoff.

On the individual side, Adam Gonsalves of Dynamic FC was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) whilst teammate Emanuel Lewis copped the Best Goalkeeper trophy. Dellon Wright of Ann’s Grove walked away with the Highest Goal Scorer accolade.
