Back Circle, Bent Street confident of victory

The captains of Bent Street and Back Circle respectively yesterday exuded confidence of emerging victorious on Saturday evening in the final of the inaugural Rocks Auto Trans and Spares Parts ‘Legendary Cup’ Futsal Championship at the National Gymnasium.

This was stated at a pre-match press conference held at the company’s Charlotte Street location. Bent Street captain Colin Nelson said, “Bent Street is a confident team and we are accustomed to this type of environment and we are confident of emerging victorious.”

He added that the country is going through a festive period due to the Mashramani celebrations and that football is part of that culture and celebration, adding that he hopes everyone supports the final on Saturday evening.

Similarly, captain of Back Circle Selwyn Williams, said that the final will be a momentous event and that he expects everyone to support their respective teams to add to the atmosphere.

He explained, “I need everyone to come out and support Back Circle. I also want people to come out and support Bent Street, and we are looking forward to a competitive match and clean match. I have heard that Bent Street has strengthened their team by acquiring Ryan Hackett, but we are ready for the match.”

Bent Street earned their berth to the final after crushing Tiger Bay 7-2 in the semi-final. Likewise, Back Circle made light work of Sparta Boss 5-1 in the second semi-final.

Meanwhile, Yolanda Ross, Managing Director of Rocks Auto Trans and Spares Parts, stated that the entity was pleased with the support that has been garnered by the tournament and that the entity is already in preparatory mode for the 2024 competition due to the success of the maiden event.

“I would like to thank our sponsors for supporting the event and may the best team win,” she declared.

The winner of the tournament will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $250,000, $150,000, and $100,000 respectively.

On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will receive one motorcycle. Similarly, a patron will receive one motorcycle on the night of the final.
