Back Circle was crowned the inaugural Rocks Auto Trans and Spares Parts ‘Legendary Cup’ Futsal champions after they defeatedg Bent Street 3-1 in a come-from-behind victory on Saturday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.

One of the largest crowds to ever descend on the facility witnessed the East Ruimveldt heavyweight capturing their first ever indoor futsal title. Bent Street entered the second half with a 1-0 lead following a Daniel Wilson conversion in a period which was dominated by the respective backlines.

Wilson rifled a powerful right footed strike into the roof of the net from the right side of the field. However, Back Circle was able to secure the title, as they recorded three goals in the space of 10 minutes.

The equaliser came off the boot of Amos Ramsay in the 34th minute, who slammed his left-footed effort onto the base of the left post and into the back of the net to spark wild celebrations on the playing area and in the stands. Both teams were unable to record another conversion in the 40 minute fixture and extra time ensued.

The versatile Ramsay made his presence felt once more to ignite another spell of celebrations, scoring in the 44th minute of extra time as he blasted his effort into the left side after racing down the right side of the field.

Stephon Reynolds then put the game to bed one minute later, latching onto a through pass during a counterattack before stabbing the ball under the body of the advancing goalkeeper during a one-on-one situation into the lower right corner.

Back Circle won $500,000 while the losing finalist won $250,000. On the individual front, Azariel Davis, goalkeeper of Back Circle was adjudicated the event’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) after only allowing a total of five goals during the entire campaign.
