Fitness Challenge 2023 set for Sunday at the National Park

Whenever the calendar flips to March, fitness athletes and enthusiasts look forward to The Guyana Fitness Games ‘Fitness Challenge’.

This year will be no different, since the event will be staged Sunday at the National Park.

These and other details were disclosed during the formal launch of the fixture Thursday night at the Herdmanston Lodge. According to organizer, Noshavyah King, this year’s event will cater for athletes in three categories: teens, elite and masters (over 40).

King added that the Games has been a platform for athletes to successfully compete and display their levels of fitness and serve as motivation for spectators.

“Over the years these competitions have produced an unmatched group of Crossfit men and women who have been dominating the local fitness scene. These competitions also serve as inspiration to the spectators to focus on their health and fitness to promote longevity.”

King disclosed that the ‘Fitness Challenge’ comprises of four to five events that combines 12 or more different exercises.

“A panel of judges will determine the contestants level of fitness based on their execution and speed and their scores are tallied to determine the fittest male and female.”

It is scheduled to attract overseas gladiators according to King.

The event dubbed ‘The Mighty Malt Fitness Challenge 2023’ has garnered the support of the Ministry of Sport, Grace Mighty Malt, Genesis Fitness Gym,  The Trophy Stall, Star Party Rentals, KFC, Bounty Farm Limited, H and Jams Entertainment and others.
