Amir Khouri elected Guyana Karate Federation President

Amir Khouri was elected to the helm of the Guyana Karate Federation (GKF) unopposed when the entity staged its Biennial General Meeting on Sunday March 5th at the Young Men’s Christian Association facility.

This was disclosed by an official release from the GKF. According to the correspondence, Khouri will lead an executive committee which comprises 1st Vice-President Roger Peroune, 2nd Vice President Keith Beaton, Secretary Bernice Irving, Treasurer Andre Sookram, and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Bhagwandin Persaud. The body will serve for the period of two years.

The release stated, “In the absence of the Treasurer, the President reported as at 2023.01.31 cash at bank was $2,120,367.78 and cash in hand was $243,121.00. January 2023 to date affiliation fees was $27,000.00. The Secretary’s Report was read by the Secretary Ms. Bernice Irving who reported that due to the Covid 19 Epidemic during the period all activities ceased.”
