Lewis, Williams ordered to pay damages to Village Voice

The High Court has ordered defendants Lincoln Lewis and Nigel Williams to pay damages totalling $3m to the media entity, Village Voice GY Inc.

Lewis and Williams had been engaged in a partnership with Village Voice and this eventually soured. It then led to Village Voice lodging a Statement of Claim with the High Court alleging infringement of the copyright of the claimant, Village Voice GY Inc and that the defendants depreciated the goodwill of the claimant in its name `Village Voice’ among other things.

The judgment was entered on February 13th, 2023 by Justice Fidela Corbin. The statement of claim was heard on January 23rd, 2023.

Teni Housty appeared for the claimant while Nigel Hughes appeared for the defendants.
