Chanderpaul, Motie in Harpy Eagles side for fourth round clash

Test players Tagenarine Chanderpual and Gudakesh Motie have been included in the Guyana Harpy Eagles side for the Cricket West Indies fourth round regional four day encounter starting tomorrow at the Providence National Stadium.

This is according to a press release from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB).

The team was selected by GCB’s Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee Ramnaresh Sarwan along with selectors Albert Clements, Peter Persaud and Royan Fredericks.

Gudakesh Motie

Chanderpaul, who scored a brilliant double century (207) against Zimbabwe earlier this year, will strengthen the team’s batting department while Motie, fresh from his 13-wicket match haul against Zimbabwe, will help new regional record-holder for the most wickets Veersammy Permaul, shoulder the wicket-taking burden. Meanwhile wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble will also miss the match because of injury.

The Guyana Harpy Eagles, who lead the points’ standings with 49 points, will play bottom-of-the-table, the Jamaica Scorpions, who are on 15.4 points, in their fourth-round WIC match at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, commencing from 10: 00 hours tomorrow.
