Escarraga strikes form to win Lusignan Golf Club tourney

March seems to be a favourite month for Guillermo Escarraga who turned back a strong challenge and marched to victory in last Saturday’s Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Club on the East Coast of Demerara.

Escarraga (16 handicap Gross 85) recorded a Net 69 to win the tournament and also won two more trophies by having the Best Front 9 of 34 and also the Longest Drive.

Almost a year ago in the month of March Escarraga had won the Genuine Auto Parts Medal Play tournament.

Raj Misir also playing with 16 handicap was second with Net 70.

The inform Mike Mangal (Handicap 9) who won two previous tournaments this year was on the podium one again with a third place finish with Net 71.

Nearest to the Pin was Miguel Oviedo.

Meanwhile, golfers are expected to turn in their numbers to honour long serving member of the Club Robert Hanoman at a Special Birthday tournament on Saturday.

Hanoman is an ardent golfer who has contributed significantly to the Lusignan Golf Club as a sponsor and administrator over the years and his Birthday tournament is an annual fixture on the local golfing calendar.

Tee off on Saturday is 12:30 hours.
