A recent Facebook post under the name ‘Hinterland Scholarship Students’ caught the eye. A caption and picture was posted showing students attending the memorial ceremony for the late President Cheddi Jagan at Babu John. Taking into consideration the recent directive issued by the Ministry of Education regarding visits/ tours by students, was the visit part of the approved list? And how is this visit different to the one which was denied to President Burnham memorial? It is noted that while Hinterland Students is not a school, all its students attend schools in the city.
